UAV Exploration is currently seeking full-time and contract UAS pilots to join our team. Our UAS operators are trained to be highly proficient as our mission requirements are some of the most challenging and complex in the UAS industry. Our pilots work in a dynamic field environment and regularly travel across the US. Ideal candidates are domiciled in the greater Pittsburgh area, but remote candidates are also strongly encouraged.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to and from remote field locations across the US
- Responsible for working with field team members in a crew environment
- Check weather, applicable regulations and coordinate with landowners
- Plan and execute complex low-altitude UAS survey missions
- Responsible for UAS maintenance and care
- Responsible for logging UAS, battery and related equipment data
Requirements:
- Ability to think outside the box, strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
- 2+ years previous UAS experience
- Experience in UAS maintenance, tuning and operation of flight controllers such as PX4 and Arducopter
- Must have good mechanical aptitude, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and be able to meet rigid deadlines
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to rent a car
- Flexible schedule, available for long distance travel for up to a week at a time
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh conditions for 8+ hours
- Ability to lift or pull 80+ lbs
UAV Exploration is currently seeking full-time and contract UAS magnetic data processors/ field
technicians to join our team. Our field technicians work on UAS data collection projects that are
some of the most challenging and complex in the UAS industry. Team members work in a
dynamic field environment and regularly travel across the US. Ideal candidates are domiciled in
the greater Pittsburgh area, but remote candidates are also strongly encouraged.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to and from remote field locations across the US
- Responsible for working with field team members in a crew environment
- Responsible for field data processing and preliminary data evaluation
- Responsible for project data processing when not in field
Technical Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience working in field of geography, geophysics, or related field.
- Experience with mapping/spatial reasoning: understanding of coordinate systems,
contours, other map elements - Experience working with geophysical instruments such as magnetometers, EM
sensors, GPR or other devices - Ability to understand data presented numerically and graphically
- Data that changes in space or time
- Comparing data displayed in 1D and 2D
- Understands and performs detailed instructions
- Experience with report writing and research
- Experience with GIS software such ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper
- Preferred experience with mapping software such as Oasis Montaj, Surfer
- Preferred working knowledge of magnetic surveying, oil/gas infrastructure, geologic
features, etc. - Experience editing custom report visuals with photo editing software such as maps,
graphs, etc.
